Adult Individual Therapy
We work with adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of concerns in life, such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, concerns around spirituality, and struggling to find their identity and purpose.
Children, Adolescents, Couples and Families
Our Clinical Intern, Caren Paul, works with children, adolescents, families, and couples. She's a wonderful asset to the Ivory & Pine team!
Caren uses an experiential and practical approach to connect with her clients, find their most pressing needs, and help them move forward without getting stuck in the weeds. If your child is working with Caren, it's much more than individual therapy. She can help with parenting coaching, sibling conflicts, and do family sessions.
Caren also works with couples and particularly enjoys working with people in alternative relationships. She is LGBTQ+ friendly. She takes the same practical approach with couples: finding a common goal and moving toward that to serve both partners.
EMDR & Trauma
Working through EMDR with Laura will feel more structured than the other types of therapy she offers.
When our minds are hurting because of abuse, trauma or grief, they naturally want to fix themselves. EMDR can help you intentionally stimulate the memory networks in your brain to “turn down the volume” of really negative memory networks and strengthen more adaptive, healthy networks.
Being a helping professional can be really, really hard. Burnout was the one word that best describes Laura's early years as a therapist.
Huge caseloads, clients with a lot of high needs, tons of trauma, mountains of paperwork, poor working conditions, terrible pay, odd hours, frequent fear of being assaulted… yeah.
If you’re there now, we want to support you. You don’t have to worry about feeling invalidated or like your therapist doesn’t get it.
Laura offers clinical supervision for therapists seeking their LPC license in Colorado. Supervisors do not need additional credentials beyond their license in Colorado, but to better establish my expertise in supervision, Laura is obtaining the hours for the Approved Clinical Supervisor (click here for more info).
Laura's primary areas of expertise for supervision include trauma, depression, anxiety, agency work/community mental health, hospitals and crisis systems, severe mental illness, and substance use.
Religious and Spiritual Trauma
Laura supports clients going through spiritual deconstruction, faith changes, and loss of faith, particularly with any form of Christianity. Religious trauma and faith deconstruction is a very nuanced, complex, and personal topic. Laura understands the importance of working with a therapist in this area who truly gets it.
